Can't enable ipv6

Oct 20, 2007 3 Replies

Hi all,

I'm having trouble enabling IPv6 on Cisco 3825 router. I'm running IOS version 12.4(3a) and when I try to enable ipv6 I get the usual "Invalid input" Error message:

Router(config)#ipv6 unicast-routing ^ %Invald input detected at '^' marker

The only problem I can think of is the IOS version. But since it's

12.4 I think it couldn't be the problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks.

Sounds to me like it's not supported in your IOS.

You need a different feature set license. Advanced IP or Advanced Enterprise support IPv6 on the 3825.

Thanks so much Doug, Yeah I guess I'm using the wrong image. I have to use these images:

c3825-advipservicesk9-mz ===> For advanced ip services or c3825-adventerprisek9-mz ===> Advanced Enterprise services

thanks to all who replied.
