What's a Brinks 4000?

Wow what a stupid proposal I'm reading! What's a 4000? Anyone know...zones, users etc?

If I ever wrote a proposal like this, I'd not sell a damn thing.

I will later...right now I'm late for ballet.

It even leaves it up to the buyer to research their own police permit application.

It's a cheap sheet chicken scratch proposal. I'll scan it later tonight.

It could be a different package of the same components instead of a new panel

Eight zones on board. Room for one zone expansion module with an additional eight zones. Looks to be a Vista series panel. You'll need an alpha keypad to program it, or one like the one I provided a link to on eBay.

I'm not taking it over just bidding against it....like I need this exercise! I may have to race them to zero, just for yucks.

How many users do you know?

THANKS !!

I think it has about 90+ users codes. I am not certain on the exact amount.

It has basically the same features as a Vista20P. I am sure it has been stripped down a bit, but who knows for sure.

It does accept an RF Receiver, Zone expanders, plus a few other custom labeled devices it seems.

Crash Gord> 90?

Looks like a salesman's worksheet. That's what they give to the customer as a proposal??

I thought Brinks did not sell its leased equipment? Mr Sableman, you really need to speak to your client. Which is it? No they don't sell it, or yes they do sell it but it costs the customer $500 more? By selling this equipment, your client could be committing consumer fraud because your client will not service any system they no longer monitor. I will print this out and let the judge decide which is correct.

Yes that's one of the two proposals...the other one is just as sloppy.

Be my guest. I don't have the other pages to the proposal though, I'll see if I can get them if the guy has time to scan them.

OH...and LOOKIE...NO SALES TAX?! There should be sales tax !! Around 5.26% (maybe 5.16 - I forget the exact amt) contractor rate when labor & parts are lumped together, if you break out labor & parts then there's no tax on labor but around 8% on parts.

Fax an "anonymous" copy to the Dept of Revenue in that state. They might have grounds to do an audit of their books.

On second thought, put my name on the fax header. :)

That's one reason why it is a good idea to make up your own contracts in larger more legible typefaces. Microprint is the root of many contract disputes. making your own contracts will save you a small fortune in print shop fees, plus any new laws that comes up can be easily inserted in its proper place if you have your own contracts. Riders and special conditions can be done on the spot. Any decent attorney can then glance your boiler plate contracts to see what is missing, or what can be done to better protect both parties in case of disputes.

Take for example Brinks PSA...The print is way too small. Many dealers I know use a minimum 10pt in size, and anything critical should be in 12pt & bold type. You can also add initial here boxes next to critical contract inclusions, exclusions or lease option paragraphs, so that the customer cannot claim ignorance of the terms of said contract.

If Brinks did this, no one would sign the damn thing once they realize first off that they don't own the equipment. In my opinion, it is in Brinks best interest to keep the customer in the dark and ignorant to what is contained in their PSA. This may warrant Federal legislation to finally change these archaic business practices.

Jim:

It would really help if Crash would send you the original. Sableman's way to sharp to let you submit a printout from a file sharing website. Heck... if you could get your mitts on a blank form, you'd blow him out of the water.

I do have a blank Brinks PSA that Mr Sableman was so kind to provide.

Here is an orignal PDF document straight from the horses ass.
