I don't know if you're just realizing it now Frank, but it seems ( ie. it's just speculation, but it seems to follow) that through the years, he has accumulated such a list of proveable or at least quoteable nasty things he's done in Usenet, that people keep calling him out on, that he has no other basis to stand on, to form some sort of defense. So he's got to exaggerate and make up 'unproveable' stories about people that seem plausable to anyone who doesn't know his reputation. I'm guessing that in some way it may make him feel justified for doing all the things he's done. After all, to someone who doesn't know what a bastard he is, as long as he makes up stories about the people who point out what he is, it makes it look like every one has done things to him and deserves to be treated badly.

I noticed this periodically in years past, but lately his exaggerations and embellishments are reaching the point of resembling fictional characters in a world that he's made up. It's something to wonder about as to whether he realizes that the people who've participated here for so long know what's true and what isn't or at least have strong indicators.

It's possible that with death on the visable horizon, complete abandon has no consequences for him. At this point why should he have to worry about the aftermath of anything that he might do here or to ....anyone?

Not that I'm sure I can get this derailed conversation/topic back on track, but I finally had success in ordering the Stealth Laboratories GSM 1650 Cellular Backup (with Uplink Anynet module) unit from ADI.

I was able to get it through a local dealer for ADI who said he'd purchase it for me. He was very nice and said he'd help me out (after telling him my sob story on Telguard which he also said he doesn't use (I'm seeing a pattern here) and uses Uplink instead) and sell it to me for the exact inovice cost to him with no markup.

It was ordered last week and it should be arriving sometime this week. I believe the exact cost will be around $300+shipping+tax (I'm told that right now it's currently on-sale through ADI who is Steath Laboratories main distributor.) It's really not that much more than a basic Uplink Anynet for around $200, so it's actually not as bad as I originally thought. This might be a good solution for others in a similar situation as me.

Keep us apprised of what happens. Dealing with a reputable Dealer "locally" is probably the best route for you on this (as I already mentioned before the thread "wandered" off topic). I can't see someone like Bass being able to set up a Telguard unit without providing a monitoring contract. I'm sure there are a number of online Stores/Dealers that are capable of doing so (that aren't restricted by their jurisdiction to simply "selling parts").
