DSC 632 - Using both 900Mhz and 433Mhz sensors

You can't "mix" transmitters on your system. You're going to have to upgrade all your transmitters along with the receiver. You can probably sell the 900 mHz stuff on eBay fairly easily considering the number of units "out there" and still in service. Alternatively, you can search eBay or

Frank, I am told by Tried that a small device is coming out which will allow the use of both the 433 and 900 hertz transmitters and devices. You will have to buy both receivers which are wired in as per normal, plus this small box like device which somehow enables both frequencies to work together....around $80 I think, plus the 433 receiver and any new devices

Ok, so no on the sensors. What about adding one of the 433Mhz key fob sets ? The kit comes with a receiver for up to 8 keys, but it not used for sensors.

You can't use two receivers on the same system unless you use the 5320 module which allows up to four receivers on the same system, but unfortunately they must all be of the same frequency IE all 900 or all 433 and, with one exception, they must also be the same version number, as RHC mentioned DSC is rumoured to be introducing/introduced a module that will allow a 900mHz and a 433mHz receiver at the same time, to the best of my knowledge this module is not available yet.

Dang, no key fobs for me then I guess. I will just have to walk that extra 5 feet and type the code. Why did DSC go and have to make me stop being lazy? Sad.

If all you want is a key fob you could use a universal receiver and fob, Street smart security (now part of Honeywell) I believe used to, and may still make a device that would work with the DSC keypad bus. There are probably others out there, Napco?, that do the same.

I have not used the Secure wireless. I have used the Street Smart receiver on the same system with a DSC receiver with no trouble. js

How would the secure wireless universal be any different than using the DSC module that only does key fobs ? I would still have two receivers on the same system. Perhaps I am missing something? Thanks foor your help everyone.

You could always use a visonic wireless pendant, and just use a zone as a arm/disarm trigger. Not the most secure way of doing it but it would work. Of course it depends on the free zones you have.

The Street Smart keyfob allow stay arm, away arm, disarm, two auxiliary outputs (garage doors), and panic all on one four-button keyfob. You can get the receiver, l.e.d. on a plate, and two keyfobs for about the same price you would pay for one Visonic receiver and one one-button keyfob, and the Street Smart unit goes on the keybus, and doesn't use up a zone. js

So are we sure the Street Smart key fob kit would not interfere with my DSC keypad with built in 900 MHz receiver? A few people in the beginning said it would conflict and would not allow two different wireless receivers to be used on the same system. Yes, Napco has a wireless keyfob and receiver that will work with other panels. I've never had to use the keyfob with other than a Napco panel, so I don't know the details with out looking at a set of instructions.

The DSC receivers have to be enrolled into the system as a unique module, the panel will only allow one wireless module to be enrolled without using the 5320 which won't let you mix 900 & 433 receivers. The universal receivers normally don't have to be enrolled as a module, they either simply draw power from the panel and have a relay output that will trigger a zone on the panel programmed as momentary arm/disarm, or they just sit on the bus without being enrolled and more or less simulate a keypad, pressing the arm/disarm button in this case will in effect send a preprogrammed code to the system that will be interpreted by the panel as a valid code as if entered at a keypad . At least thats my understanding of it

I have recently added a Street Smart reciever to a power 832 DSC control that has 900mhz wireless. The set up works just fine. The street smart does not enroll on the system and therfore will work no matter what other reciever you have.

I was told by my distributor that the module to allow 2 recievers is on their shelves now, :) but for the price, a street smart was the way to go if you only wanted key fobs'.

I haven't seen any on ebay and am on what some might call a low budget (I'm donating this system to a single mom who needs to protect her home and children). Anyone know of a good place to get a couple of keys at low cost. I really think these are needed as the woman's mind is going and numbers seem to slip away. Thanks all.
