ds924 Motion Det. Set-Up Help Please?

Many wireless motion sensors utilize a battery saving feature, the LED may only function during the warm up/test period.

May be redundant, but the battery saving feature will put the motion to sleep, if you will, until there is no motion in the area of view for a period of time and then it will detect motion again. Lets say there was a party in the room and the motion was detecting constant motion for an extended amount of time, the batteries would die rapidly. May be the same thing Doug was saying.

probably would have been cheaper to hang a wired pir with a 9v battery for power.

I'm not quite sure what you folks are saying - Are you saying that after the test period the red light NEVER shows again to save battery power? When I go back to the shed an hour later the light does not go on no matter how much motion. If this is to save battery strength so be it but I was hoping to make someone think that the red light meant that they had been detected by a monitoring system and they would run away. On the other hand if the ds924 is SUPPOSED to keep lighting up at separate incidents mine does not and I would like to know if I'm doing something wrong.(Is there a series of steps or code to turn it on) Thanks for all your help. Its nice to be able to ask a newbie question and not get flamed.

If its a hardwired motion yes it can be made to do what you want but wireless no

buy a cheap wired pir and use a 9v battery to pwr it you'll get your led that way...until the battery dies...but it should last a while.
