Cisco 2610-XM Router Question

Hi,

I have a Cisco 2600 Router (2610-XM). When the router is switched on or a reload command issued, during the boot up process the IOS image is always decompressed (see output below).

Should this decompression occur every time?

The reason I asked is I also have a CAT 2950 switch and the IOS images loads very fast. I am also new to the Cisco world so your patience is appreciated!

Output: -

C2600 platform with 98304 Kbytes of main memory

program load complete, entry point: 0x80008000, size: 0x10e766c Self decompressing the image : ############################################################################################## ############################################################################################################################# ####################################################### [OK]
