tftp boot problems

Hi!

Since the IOS with needed features does not fit into our flash, we decided to boot the box via tftp; we have done before with a lot of

7507's without problem. This is an old 1720. We try to boot 12.2(15)T17. This is what happens: Machine comes up and loads bootstrap: System Bootstrap, Version 12.0(3)T, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1) Copyright (c) 1999 by cisco Systems, Inc. C1700 platform with 49152 Kbytes of main memory

program load complete, entry point: 0x80008000, size: 0x580438 Self decompressing the image : ######[...]####[OK]

next message: Loading c1700-k9o3sy7-mz.122-15.T17.bin from 192.168.10.195 (via FastEthernet0) !!!![...]!!!! [OK - 9204876 bytes] program load complete, entry point: 0x80008000, size: 0x8c7398 Self decompressing the image : ####[...}###[OK]

But then, without any log message, it once again loads the bootstrap image and the image from flash, which we dont want.

The relevant part of the config: hostname salsa ! boot system tftp c1700-k9o3sy7-mz.122-15.T17.bin 192.168.10.195 logging buffered 4096 debugging

No other 'boot' options or whatever.

What is our mistake?

Thanks, Christian
