Alcatel Speed Touch Home ?

Hi out there!

I have a "Speed Touch Home" ADSL modem. Acording to the manual, the access to the modem setup is either via telnet or http on 10.0.0.138.

I have tried to ping the adress, but get no reply.

Is there a way my old ISP could have blocked the adress in the modem to prevent tampering? ( I bought it from them)

Or is there any other way in. There is no rs232 port what I can see.

Thanks Amanda!

I just found out the reason for no contact: I had not sat up the pc the the same net -:() When I assigned 10.0.0.130 as the adress of the PC, then it was "all systems go" !!

Thanks anywhay!

That is the default. It may have been changed to another standard (I changed mine).

Try 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 for grins
