Dell Dimension 4100 Wireless

Does anyone have a Dell Dimension 4100 desktop running wireless? I put in a Linksys 54 G Wireless-G 802.11g PCI adapter and the Dell doesn't see it.

Any help is appreciated.

I have in the past, unfortunately no longer. Worked fine though. Did you install the software before installing the adapter? Mine was a WMP54G.

What OS? What card? If Windows, you can get the driver package from the Linksys webpile.

OT, General question that shows my usenet ignorance: why does one ask that their message not be archived?

This means that in the future, others with the same problem will not be able to follow this thread for a solution, right?

In other words, it's like a private help session?

I have wondered this as it turns up and decided not to answer when somebody posts this way, but maybe there's a good reason....

WinME. Linksys 54 G Wireless-G 802.11g PCI adapter.

Linksys e-mailed me this A.M. so I will get WUSB54G ADAPTER. It's backward usb1.1 compatible and WinME compatible. I'll let you know if it works.

WUSB54G + 16 ft USB cord = IT WORKS! Thanks all.
