Transplant a PRI enabler key

Nov 13, 2006 3 Replies

Hi all,

Our client has an MICS with a defective sound port. Should be a no-brainer to replace the KSU (under warrantee) and get them working but we have run into a brick wall. This MICS has a T1 line card in it with a PRI enabler key. The PRI enabler key is keyed to the defective KSU. If we replace the KSU, the PRI enabler key is no longer valid.

Does anyone know if there is a way to move the PRI enabler key to the replacement KSU?

Thanks in advance,

Doc Malks

I am just musing. The software is in the PCMIA card right ? The key will be stored there also and will move with the software.

More musing. Put the whole software cartridge and PCMIA card into the new KSU. Sorry I don't know for sure.

Unfortunately the system ID is in the main KSU, so moving the cartridge won't work. If you are a Nortel partner or dealer you can move it using the keycode retrieval system (KRS) on Nortels site.
