Mission IOS 6509

Gang, I'm looking at a 6509 for a friend. It's ios looks like it has been deleted. It won't go any further than rommon.

From rommon - I do a dir bootflash: and I can see an image file but out

from the filename it says "deleted". I'm guessing that deleted it but didn't "squeeze" to purge it.

At this point am I hosed? Xmodem install of IOS? Or is there a way to use the "deleted" file.

I've tried boot=bootflash: sync boot but it gives me a magic number error.

Thanks for any help

Kilgore.

The rommon doesn';t support undelete or TFTP. I'm trying to xmodem now, but xmodem with hyperterm keeps bombing out. Hypterterm has told me "Unrequested Response". I've tried with other terminals and no such luck. ANy ideas?

It's a 720 MSFC3 in Native mode.

There is no console recovery for a deleted/corrupt image on a Sup720. If you can get the IOS image on a CF card you can boot from that, otherwise you will need a replacement Supe.

You will need to get IOS on a CF card that has been formatted by another Sup720.
