We have the following 2 positions open in Westborough, MA. Each contract role is for 3 months +
Major Accountability:
- Network Engineering and Network Security, consulting and design, integration
- Overall project development activities and successful implementation
- Communication to project management and EOS/IT management
- Assessment and recommendation regarding the overall infrastructure health
- Create and maintain detailed infrastructure documentation
- Research new tools and technologies
- Knowledge transfer to supporting teams (turn-over)
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement and operate secure infrastructure for critical applications
- Define infrastructure requirements for the implementation of new applications and projects
- Work in collaboration with other departments or organizations to develop and analyze systems in support of their projects or mission, then upgrade or enhance the infrastructure to meet their requirements
- Provide 3rd level technical support for complex production systems and services
- Lead projects and efforts that require specialized infrastructure skills
- Work with the various project stakeholders to facilitate implementation and completion of the projects
- Proactively monitor infrastructure for optimal performance and provide input for capacity planning and fine tune infrastructure when needed
- May act as project manager in area of expertise
- Lead in the evaluation of new products and services
- May execute specific activities related to the improvement or performance of systems infrastructures
- Identifies areas where existing policies and procedures require change or where new ones need to be developed. Maintains all relevant documentation
- Participates in related industry organizations and special interest groups
- Maintains relationships with 3rd party technical support engineers/ teams
- Rotating off hour on-call support required
- Limited travel required
Minimum Requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience in Network Security, minimum of 10 years IT experience
- Working knowledge of enterprise firewall technologies required
- Thorough understanding of TCP/IP and common network protocols is required
- Experience with Cisco networking technologies preferred
- Experience with Checkpoint firewalls
- Experience performing detailed Risk Assessments preferred
- Technical writing experience required
- Strong troubleshooting skills required
- The individual must also be able to demonstrate strong communication and inter-personal skills
- Proven ability to succeed in a multi-task, team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with limited supervision
- Project management experience desirable
- Experience with IDS Management and Event Management highly desirable
- Experience with Web Vulnerability Management highly desirable
Education:
- This position requires a Bachelor=92s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
- CISSP and /or GIAC certifications highly desirable
