Telecommunications Engineer

Requirements- Successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience to equal 5 years. Major or coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems, Networking or Operating Systems is preferred. Ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in heavy Avaya Administration background. Avaya Certified Associate, ACA and/or Avaya Certified Specialist, ACS, and/or Avaya Certified Engineer, ACE is highly desirable but not required. Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, customer support, oral and written communication skills; excellent project leadership, problem resolution and critical thinking skills. Job Responsibilities- =B7 Maintains and troubleshoots MERLIN LEGEND, Avaya S8700/S8500 media servers and gateways, and Modular Messaging. =B7 Monitors performance and troubleshoots problems that impact system availability. =B7 Performs routine maintenance procedures with minimal downtime to ensure system integrity, availability, and reliability. =B7 Manages and plans installation projects on various levels for multiple locations. =B7 Performs firmware upgrades. Maintains Avaya Contact Center utilizing Business Advocate, BSR, IP Agent, IP Softphone, CMS, etc. =B7 Writes, edits, and troubleshoots call vectors and VDNs. =B7 Administers packet-based (MPLS) network, and traditional PRI trunking that supports remote sites. Hence basic understanding of IP Networking is required. =B7 Leads and participates in projects at the local and enterprise level. =B7 Provides training and support to the IT Services/Help Desk staff..
