maybe there are different way of doing the same things with IOS 12.3. In particular I wondered about PPPOA mode for an ADSL connections.
I searched for very basic configuration of PPPOA, PPPOE and RFC 1483 modes. I thought that for PPPOA the following conf was good and the only possible in ATM0 interface:
pvc 8/35 encapsulation aal5mux ppp dialer dialer pool-member 1
but a guy working with me tried the following
pvc 8/35 dialer pool-member 1 protocol ppp dialer
without specifying the encapsulation mode. Is "aal5mux" perhaps the default value for IOS 12.4?
