Recently put in DSL. Have the modem downstairs in the basement with the router. When I go down to do anything I notice the noise. They're sending a replacement. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem.

It has been reported in this group before.
Yes, my 5100 also has a slight high pitched whine. Since it unfortunately has to reside in our bedroom, it gets turned off at night. The rest of the time we're either not around, or the fan/hard drive noise from the computer covers it up when we use the computer.
