Wireless Alarms

Several comapanys make them I use Ademco/ Honeywell ones they work excelently. I also bieleve DSC and Napco have them as well. I do not know astand alone reciver style is available thou.

When we find this, I have instructed my techs to cut out a section of the wire that has the evidence of the pest's presence. Give it to the customer (preferably the man of the house) and without saying a word, wait for them to ask the question, "What caused this?" or "What happened here?" Then we simply say, you need to call your pest control company. We never get into the possibilities, that is for the pest control company to handle. Then present them with the bill for the call. If the tech surprises them with "you have rats in your attic" the customer takes offense (especially the lady of the house) and your the bad guy. No one likes to hear they have that kind of problem, we only offer a solution.

I was investigating false alarms in a million dollar house a few y ears back..up in the attic...3 INCHES of rat-s*it...all sorts of wires were chewed upon, including electric to the air handlers...nasty and dangerous. Patched what we could see, told the homeowner about the critter problem, he said he'd take care of it.

Man, I couldn't live with them things scurrying around above my ceiling...no freekin way.

And the were BIG too...the tech I was with saw one and came flying outta there and wouldn't go back up (chicken s*it).

I guess some people don't worry about what they can't see.
