Hmmm, I always thought that first ....... forgiveness must be sought. Without seeking forgiveness, there can be none.

Contrition, remorse, shame, apology isn't that all part of the forgiving process? With out that, then forgiveness is simply a carte blanche to continue the bad conduct and only makes the forgiver feel good about himself. Forgiveness without remorse doesn't seem to me to have any other purpose. And since I'm sure I didn't like getting "smacked" the first time, I don't think that turning the other cheek to get smacked again, is a good idea. So what's the point in forgiving someone who doesn't give a damn if you do or don't?

I think that if you get smacked once, the next time they come back, you're pretty damn stupid if you haven't picked up a good sized stick, between then and now ..... just in case.

I am not an actor and seldom study how I come across to others. Thanks for the reminder that I do appear to others as a "know it all" too much of the time. I certainly don't perceive myself or try to represent myself as that. The list of things I know little or nothing about is far too vast to begin to describe here. I am curious by nature and pretending I know something doesn't serve my interests to always be able to find out more.

I was not trying to discover a genesis to any pathology you may or may not have. I merely posed my question in such a poor fashion as to let that seem to be a possible answer. I don't bother with trying to decide how mentally unstable someone is or isn't. I tend to believe the only normal people are the ones you don't know very well.

I am not a good predictor of what someone may or may not do. However I have always believed that to forgive someone for a slight, real or perceived, requires work from the forgiver. Something must occur to tilt the balance so that the forgiver decides that the person being forgiven merits the effort of the forgiver. As a practical matter you have decided that Bass has not yet met that threshold.

I d>> You know Jim you seem to have an idea as to how everyone here ticks. >

Umm, let me guess. You get tired of using a different alias every time you post?

umm, wrong, it obviously doesn't bother me but I know it bothers the s*it out of you. hahahahaha the day you go onto your greater rewards I will stop. hahahaha

As I mentioned in this thread to another poster, forgiveness has to be sought. Without that, forgiving has no meaning. It only makes the forgiver "feel" good. I feel pretty good already. If you follow the advice of the scriptures, and turn the other cheek, you'd damn well better go out and get a big supply of cheeks. Cuz they're gonna be back. I choose to carry on until there is contrition, regret and remorse. Until that is forthcoming, I'll continue to respond in a manner equal or exceeding the nasty conduct of Bass, that precipitates this whole issue.

It is what it is, Roland.

What I said when you first arrived here, still holds true. I suggested that your best choice is to pick through the bull s*it and look for the

diamonds. I would hope that has more meaning to you now.

Be patient, though. It's not going to last for any appreciable amount of time ..... in the scheme of things.
