I was told I needed a cross connect cable in order to hook my laptop to our call pilot system. Connecting the Call Pilot into the router with a static IP does not allow me to connect to the Call Pilot though I can ping it. Connecting my laptop directly to the Call Pilot, without a cross link cable, works fine. Thoughts?

- Double check that cable you are calling an un-crossover cable.
- Your laptop may have auto sensing like the new switches.

Doesn't really tell me why the call Pilot won't connect to the router with a regular cat5 cable.
