most of our services will make an IDENT request. If you reply, or send a port unreachable, the service will continue immediately. If you "stealth" the port, you gain nothing - a failure to reply hides nothing, but will incur a delay while we wait for the request to timeout.
Why? We log the information. If we have a query on your usage of our service, it may help you determine what happened.
