Cisco 7200 as PPPoE server

I want to set up a small ISP system for demonstration purposes. As NAS I have a Cisco 7200 router. Because I don't have any real dial in hardware I thought about simulating DSL dial in by simply connecting a laptop as pppoe client to a Cisco ethernet port. The laptop should be configured as if it is connected to a normal DSL modem. As I'm a newbie in Cisco configuration, I'd like to ask two things:

  1. Is it possible at all to set up the c7200 to serve the pppoe directly without the DLSAM ... in the dialin network?

  1. If yes, how can it be done?

Thanks in advance Hanspeter

Yes.

Follow the configuration guide from cisco.com.

That's what I tried before. But I did only find configurations for ATM interfaces, nothing for a direct ethernet connection between the client and the cisco.

Drop the ATM part. Start with virtual-access for vpdn.
