6509 Boots to Rommon

Oct 12, 2006 6 Replies

Gang, I have a 6509 IOS native that boots into rommon after we cycle it.

If I type "Boot" at the rommon prompt, everything comes up fine. Show Boot shows: BOOT variable = CONFIG_FILE variable = BOOTLDR variable = bootflash:c6msfc3-psv-mz.122-17d.SXB11.bin Configuration register is 0x102

Standby is up Standby has 458720K/65536K bytes of memory.

Standby BOOT variable = Standby CONFIG_FILE variable = Standby BOOTLDR variable = bootflash:c6msfc3-psv-mz.122-17d.SXB11.bin Standby Configuration register is 0x102

This started happening after I converted from CAT OS to IOS Dir sup-bootflash shows: s72033-jk9s-mz.122-18.SXD7a.bin

Any help would be great.

You have your boot varible set to boot an invalid image. "BOOTLDR variable = bootflash:c6msfc3-psv-mz.122-17d.SXB11.bin"

The image in your flash is: "s72033-jk9s-mz.122-18.SXD7a.bin"

At the rommon prompt type: boot:c6msfc3-psv-mz.122-17d.SXB11.bin

After the system comes up correct your bootstring in your config

Ok, Do I have the wrong images in the wrong spot?

In Dir bootflash: I see c6msfc3-psv-mz.122-17d.SXB11.bin

In Dir SUP-Bootflash I see s72033-jk9s-mz.122-18.SXD7a.bin

Do I have those images in the correct place? and my bootldr should be c6msfc3-psv-mz.122-17x.SX11.bin?
