Hi guys, I have a 4510R with SE V, and the standby SE is disabled after an image upgrade, is there a way for me to enable it manually?

Here is something that I saw recently:-

Slot 1 sup had a new image put on its bootflash.

"boot system flash .... " command issued to configure new image to boot, "no boot system flash....." command issued to stop old image booting.

Force reboot of both SEs.

OOPS!

Thing was, no image corresponding to boot system flash command exists on standbybootflash:.

So second SE wont boot.

The fix is to manually boot second SE from Console (serial cable), there is no other way.

Ideally put correct image on flash card in slot0: and

rommon>boot slot0:c4500-is-mz-12.2.xxx.bin

Then it comes up.

You can also boot from tftp.

You need to read the docs. It is a bit weird but as long as you have console access and can either put an image in slot0 or can connect the "management port" and use tftp then it is easy enough to recover.
