Verizon Telling Me DSL Is $29.95 Forever?

Feb 03, 2005 2 Replies

My neighbor called me and said Verizon was going to give her DSL for just $29.95 a month. I said, no, that's an introductory offer. It's about $10 higher after the first 3 months. I told her I read the fine print on the flier in the mail. She said, no, it's not. I called Verizon and the person on the phone said they could give me the discount too and that it was not just an introductory offer, but $29.95 as the basic price. I was shocked, but I'm not stupid, so I signed up for it. Then, my neighbor called again to clarify and again they told her that this was a special deal for our area because Verizon was trying to draw customers from our area.

Moreover, I was told the first month is free.

Is this really true? $29.95 is all I have to pay per month? Or, will it switch to something higher after 3 months?

Ah, so the cable co. must have started offering service...

It's a fixed price.

I actually started with Verizon paying ~$40.00 now I pay ~$35.00
