VPN disconnect after 30 days and DSL

On Windows 2000 we are having a problem with VPN Tunnel trying to re-establish a connection after the DSL line has been closed.

What we can figure out is that all machines are disconnected roughly about the same day. We think it's after 30 days of continious usage.

Doesn't a DSL line renew it's line and hand out a new IP address for the OS?

Our VPN Tunnel has a fixed IP address and the OS uses DHCP. Would a renew on the DSL line effect this and if so I'm assuming we need to restart the OS for both the OS and VPN Tunnel to start working.

Does all of this make sense?

I'm new at this but like I said we have 3 things that are consistent. DSL lines, VPN goes down after 30+ days, and VPN won't re-connect.

Any help or direction is appreciated

I should say we are ASSUMING that the DSL line is closed and renew. If all machines are off at around 30 days, we only assuming it's the DSL line.

it's not power, all the machines are on
