DSL and streaming audio

We are having problems when we stream audio using audio players. After we have streamed we cannot bring up a web page. In checking the system it appears we are still connected to the internet (network), and in fact we can still receive a stream even though we cannot bring a web page up. It seems as if we can revceive a signal, but cannot send a request. We have tried various solutions, and have contacted our service provider, but they have not heard of the problem before. I have tried typing in an actual IP number thinking it was the domain name server, but it did not work. We "solved" the problem by unplugging this and turning off that, but we are not sure of the solution or prevention. Our DSL is connected through Verizon, and this is the only problem we have ever had. Anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks

Tom

Can you please explain HOW do you "stream" the audio ? Please provide as much tech info as possible regarding anything that could be related to the problem.
