disconnect every 24 hours

Hello,

A lot of DSL ISP disconnect every user every day, why ?

Thanks of your answers.

They don't necessarily "disconnect", but it's likely that the DHCP "lease" of the IP address expires, and your modem/router does not "renew" the lease gracefully.

The intention is to cause your IP address to change, to discourage home users from running servers. If you have a business account, you are issued a "static" IP address, which does not expire or change.
