no UDP/TCP selection on Netgear WGR614v4 router ???

Does anyone know why the WGR614v4 router does not give the option of UDP/TCP port forwarding types? I've got an application that is not working for some strange reason and can only imagine it has something to do with that.

Hint: Reasons are strange only before they are understood.

I don't have a specific answer, but I don't think your unspecified application will fail due to protocol type forwarding problems. The only reason I can think of having seperate TCP and UDP selections is if you want TCP to go to one IP address on the LAN, while UDP goes to another IP on the LAN. I can think of a few exotic applications that might benifit from this feature, but I've never seen any in common use. In literally any case that I can conjur, redirecting TCP, UDP, and ICMP to an inside LAN IP address will suffice to get the application to run.

So, what are you trying to accomplish and what do you have to work with?
