I am nothing about setting up ad-hoc and sharing the file . Can anybody give me a link to a site that will show me exactly what to do ? Also how do I access the files on the other computer? Using window explorer?

I've never managed to get ad-hoc working, but theoretically you set the two PCs to ad-hoc on the same channel, ensure they have fixed IP addresses, ensure they're in the same workgroup, and they should find each other.
Once you have the two talking, go to "my network places" and then click on "view workgroup computers" to find the other PC. Or access it directly from Explorer by typing "\\\\computername" into the address bar, where computername is its name. Mark McIntyre
