Agent 3.2: Can I change the <From> field?

I appreciate being able to use the Gmail authenticated SMTP server, which requires SSL, but now my email messages reflect the Gmail account in the field. Yes, I can set the field, but I don't want folks to think that the Gmail account is now my "real" email address.

Is there a way to set the field to something other than the account used to authenticate to the SMTP server?

Thanks.

  1. Specify whatever email address you want in your configuration.
  2. Use your Gmail address (and password) for SSL.
  3. Add the email address you are specifying to your Gmail account.

Oops. I posted this to the wrong group, but you STILL had the answer to my question.

BTW, there is one other step. I needed to make my "real" email address the default address on that Gmail account.

Thanks!

It does not need to be the default.

You're right yet again. I would never have guessed that simply having my real email address in the list of addresses in the Gamil account would allow it to automatically use it in the From: field.
