I went to Honeywell's website to get an installation manual for the vista 10 E and on the front of it was this

Addition of new 5800 series transmitters with this control panel is prohibited, other than for repair of existing installations. Non-permitted use voids U.S. warranty.

Why would they say that? Did I read this wrong?

This is what I got from it....

If you have a system installed, you cant add any 5800 series devices to this panel because we want you to buy a new control board...

Am I wrong on this?

It's a legal thing, several years ago Ademco was sued by ITI over patents concerning the learning of wireless sensors, ITI won the first round but lost the appeal if I recall.

Ademco put that disclaimer on the documentation for the older Vista-10/20/Via-30 panels then slightly changed the firmware and method of learning sensors. You should have no problems learning any 5800 sensor into that panel

If the panel is that old, the warranty has long since expired anyway. However, they wrote that because 5the 5800 series receivers were not compatible with the older panels. Whether the current 5800 receivers will work with it is another question. I don't know for sure thoiugh I suspect the answer is no. If jno one tells you for sure by morning, I'll ask my Honeywell rep.

Ok...well, I might have messed it up anyways....Im moving into a house I bought and I had some Ademco wireless devices here in the house installed with a Vista 50P. I took the system out an installed a hardwired system.. I had that old vista 10 E board laying around so I thought I would put it in. System is very small 3 doors and 1 motion.

I wanted to have it working so when people look to buy, they see that it works.

I did something in programing and I couldnt get out so I shut it off... Now the master code does not work. Now when I power the board up, its in the Arm state and I cant get into programming. I tried connecting with a downloading computer but it wont pick up... * plus # does not work during power up since its armed....

Anyone any ideas on how to fix my booo boooo?

I have an ADT Vista 20 here... I might install it.. but I wanted to use the

10 because if the new people wanted service, I could just call it up to program...

Matthew

I you press the * and # while powering have someone at the keypad folding the key pressed when you put power to it) and you will go in programming mode, been there and its a damn pain....
