DSC PC 1550 Beeping

I am trying to install and program a pc 1550, and when the unit is powered up, the keypad will beep. I have been told the keypad I am using is compatible, but I am not so sure. The panel is a pc 1500 rev



4m, and the keypad is a pc5000rk. The keypad is a 4 zone, but I only need 4 zones on the panel. I am trying to get into program mode, and I have done a hard reset, but I am not sure what to do here, any knowledge would be great.

I don't think the 500 keypad is compatible with the 1550

I believe that any keypad for the 1500/1550/2500/2550/3000 series of panels is more or less interchangeable.

If the 500 keypad will work with any other panel its more likely to be the

1575 or possibly the 1555/5010 series.

Unless you are on a really tight budget I wouldn't even look for a replacement keypad, just buy a new 1555 & keypad and be done with it, if you are on a tight budget you may have more luck looking for a used PC500 board rather than a 1500/1550 keypad..
