What problem did you have?
several small thing but the biggest was alarm dispatching for test signals..
their night crew just could not understand the difference of test signals from alarm signals
and that was using 3 x 1 format..
we logged apx.. 50 false dispatch's in a little over 4 months...

That's one reason why I use only automated reporting, like Contact ID and SIA.

MLeuck, you might not believe it, but I watched it happen, more than once in fact.. and each time it was a different change at the receiving end, but the same alarm event at the sender..

There may not be any real value or any technical advantage in having a monitoring station in state, but there is a perceived value on the part of some potential customers.
Many new customers ask where their alarm will be monitored and most seem to react favourably when you tell them the central station is local and they are welcome to visit the central station if they wish, not one of my customers has ever actually visited the central station but many have initially expressed a desire to.

Point well taken
