X10 software locks WinXP

Feb 11, 2006 2 Replies

I have used the X10 Firecracker CM17a sucessfully on Win98 and 2000 with Homeseer but recently installed it on XP. The Firecracker s/w would lock up the PC each time. I removed it via the Control Panel and after many reboots my PC is still not responding after boot up. The other time I tried this my PC was ok after uninstalling the X10 s/w.

Any suggestions?

Do you have ActiveHome Pro (for the CM15A) installed? If so, try ctrl-alt-del and kill the x10nets process before you start the Firecracker software.

No I use Homeseer. I manually uninstalled all the X10 dlls even though they were already uninstalled and that seemed to do it. I guess I need to get away from the CM17a and get a hardwired USB solution.
