I have a netgear router/firewall with several pc on a local network. Each pc has a software firewall as well. Does the ip address of the router go into the "trusted" zone of the software firewall or does it go into the "untrusted" zone?

If you want to share files, then you should add
192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 as a trusted address. If you're just sharing an internet connection, then you don't need to add it.
Don't presume that the previous poster uses 192.168.0.0/24 for his LAN.
Yes, I should not have assumed he/she would be using the default set of addresses assigned by a Netgear router. Thanks.
