Port Scans all day from my ISP

Jan 05, 2005 4 Replies

Hello,

I have been recieving multiple port scans from my ISP every time I dial-up to the internet today(port 80, 135, 137, 139, and 445). Does anyone have any idea why I am getting these port scans from my ISP. Thanks in advance.

Chris H.

Post the ip address. I would bet it is normal scans from cracked boxes.

The matrix is going to get you soon. Random port scans on the internet is usual activity that's happening every day. Don't worry about it.

report it to your isp as they should be able to locate the originating source ip and block there access from there system. as well as that the isp should be sending them a letter (e-mail) informing them of what is happening and requesting that they get thier pc fixed.

  1. What is telling you that you are rx'ing port scans.
  2. It's probably just some other schmuck or group of schumcks with a worm or 3. E.
