Undefined Port Adaptor in 2610

AN unrecognized port adapter may mean that you do not have an IOS image that is high enough to support it.

Check on CCO or post the output of show version - someone may know

Have a 2610 which has, in addition to the WIC 1DSU T1, has a 1E 2W in bay 1, with both W slots empty. Upon booting the device it doen't recognize the second ethernet port.

config seems to recognize something csco(config)#int ether 1/0? . : but can't complete the command

The NM-1E2W is not supported in C2600 series routers. It is for the 3600 series.
