older WIC-1DSU with 2801 router?

Do the old WIC-1DSU cards work with this router or do I need to buy the new "V2" cards?

Thanks,

-Bob

The WIC-1DSU (version 1) cards do *work* in the Cisco 2801 model, but are not officially supported. That would lead me to believe that some future IOS might remove compatibility for this card, and you'll be SOL. Also, any TAC questions for hardware problems are probably going to bounce back immediately that you are running an unsupported config.

It would be prudent to get the WIC-1DSU-V2 for this router.

On the other hand, the 2811 and 2821 will NOT work with the WIC-1DSU. They do require that you have the WIC-1DSU-V2 (at least when I ran up either of them). The code just won't recognize that old card at all.
