LAYER 3 SWITCH BCMSN EXAM

Is it necessary to have a Layer 3 switch to study for the new BCMSN exam for the CCNP, or can I just use Layer 2 switches?

Thanks

So with Layer 2 switches as the ones you mentioned should be fine for the new BCMSN 642-812 exam? A Layer 3 switch would not be necessary?

Thank you for the reply.
