CCNA Recertification

Hi

I have just got my 180 day Recertification Reminder for my CCNA, I was planning on doing the CCNP BCMSN exam to get my CCNA for another 3 years, however the e-mail states the following:

----- CCNP & CCDP certifications Complete one of the following recertification options:

  • Pass the 642-891 Composite exam (covers content from the BSCI and the BCMSN exams)
  • Pass both the 642-801 BSCI and 642-811 BCMSN exams.
  • Pass a CCIE written exam on or after October 1, 2004.

I thought you just needed to pass 1 CCNP exam to get you CCNA for another 3 years.

Can anybody confirm that you need to pass both the BSCI and the BCMSN exams to get my CCNA for another 3 years.

Rich

Read it again. The email said CCNP & CCDP, not CCNA! Any 642-xxx exam will recertify your CCNA.

Doan

If all you have is a CCNA, then and 642-xxx exam will renew it.

Are you sure you don't actually have a CCNP? In which case, the email snippet you posted is what is required.
