"jumpstart" tftp client

Jun 30, 2005 2 Replies

I have an 3620 with old rom and it does not have the command tftpdnld. I am transferring a 15M ios to the router via xmodem and hyperterminal says it needs five more hours to finish the upload.

Is there any tftp client for Cisco router that I can upload to the router in order to make this image download faster ?

Thanks,

DT

Nope, but what you should be doing is xmodeming the smallest possible IP only image that will support your ethernet carrier (whichever it may be). Once you get the ethernet recognized you should tftp the larger image. A 15m image is much too large to be xmodeming, huge possibility of it failing.

You do know that you can change the console to 115200 for the xmodem right? It's in the confreg settings.

Thanks. I will do it right now :-)
