Heh, where's the tough part?

It looks like from the filename of the previous IOS image, you have some sort of ws-c3750-xx/x model, and you downloaded an IOS image for a ME-C3750-24TE-M switch (ie. Metro Ether model).

You got the wrong image.

Seems you've got wrong image for your platform and using boot command didn't specify any alternative. Your older image should have been booted automatically but its file doesn't have .bin extention so Cisco doesn't consider it. Now you need to get to the bootrom monitor and manually load older image. For this you have to power-off/on the switch and during first

30 seconds send BREAK signal from your terminal program (note this is not the same as Ctrl-C or Ctrl-Break on your keyboard). The last time I checked Windows Hyperterminal isn't that reliable for sending BREAK (in some versions work in others doesn't). If you're using Windows, search Google for IVT VT220 (install full version for console connections). If you have a Unix you probably already know how to use 'cu' or 'tip'.

So, once your switch is booting (during display of #### characters) and you've send BERAK signal you'll endup in bootrom monitor. Now just type:

boot c3750-ipbase-mz.122-25.SEB4

or if that doesn't work:

boot flash:c3750-ipbase-mz.122-25.SEB4

and you'll have your old image running. If your switch still insists on booting newer image afterwards, get into bootrom as above then:

confreg

Leave default answers for all questions except 'Enable "Ignore system config"'.

reset

Upon reboot get into boot room again and use boot command from above.

Kind regards, iLya
