If only a Cisco router (3620) could run Linux!

IOS:

unsupported hardware, scarcely modular software, thousands of functions that I do not use, but not the one I want (SLB) that is only supported on the same IOS version of the model I do not have.

Is this just a dream or there is anyone who actually tried to do something about it?

uClinux has successfully been ported to the Cisco 2500, 3000, 4000 routers. The patch allowing uClinux to run on the Cisco 2500/3000/4000 routers was completed by Koen De Vleeschauwer.
