Help getting rid of All-in-one device and replace with CISCO product(s)

Sep 22, 2006 1 Replies

I have what is called a Net Integrator, which an all in one device (router/firewall/mail server/vpn/domain controller...) We are currently using only the router/firewall/mail server portion of this device. I want to get rid of it because it keeps on restarting causing internet loss and loss of sending/receiving mail. I have an exchange server, but it is only doing internal e-mail. All of the workstations are static, because of our business application.

I have available to me a Cisco router 1760 with 10BT Ethernet WAN card and a Cisco 501 PIX

Would these devices work? Do I need both or will one of the devices work? Should I purchase something else?

I would like to use what I already have because I own them already, but willing to consider other options.

What I need advice on is choosing which product to use for our network. I have the routing information off of the Net Integrator, but I am not sure what device to use and how to setup the routing configuration so that it will work and be secure. I probably could mess around trying to get it working, but would rather ask an expert so I don't waste time and end up setting it up in-secure.

I have been reading like crazy on how to use the commands, but I am not that great. I can get around in the PIX because it has a GUI.The routing information is in the visio diagram below

The Adtrans routers are ISP owned, which are for our dedicated VPN through our ISP, so I can't touch.

Any recomendations on the network are welcome.

A Visio diagram of my network can be found at this address:
