Connecting to a router and switch for setup...

How many different ways can you connect to a router and switch? For instance you can console using a console cable, but there are other ways right like the AUX port how does that work?

AUX port is used for low speed asnyc connections such as connecting with a modem. You can then configure your router anyway you desire.

Connecting a router to a switch via aux port is really only usefull for out-of-band management ... eg. allowing you to telnet to the router via the switch on a different port ... telnet 2001.

Actually Cisco mentions that you can use the AUX port for direct attachment of a terminal and dialing for the purpose of routing packets.
