The boot system commands only work when the config register is set to



0x2102 correct?

Not exactly. The do work if the config register is so set however there are many other settings that allow the boot system commands to work. It is the "boot bits" (the last 4 bits IIRC) that control the boot behaviour.

It is extensively documented on CCO.
