memory upgrade questions

Is there a non-Cisco memory FAQ site somewhere?

Can I use SDRAM made for a PC in a 2500? What speed, etc? Can I use a

32M in a 2500 as if it were 16M?

Are the Flash simms available other than from sources specifically for cisco equipment? What about the flash cards, I don't see those on ebay. What's different about 2600 flash, can an 8M one be used in a 2500?

You may wish to investigate Cisco Router Memory Tables:

You may also wish to investigate the "old" Cisco Memory AVL ( Approved Vendor List ):

not sure about particular speeds etc but there is plenty of dram and flash ram available on ebay from 3rd party manufactures at very resonable prices.

Cisco repeatedly told us that the AVL is now defunct. Makes sense as raping customers on memory prices is/was probably good business.
