AOL DSL Sharing

I set up a router for a client on AOL DSL per AOL's 'home networking' instructions. It connects properly and basically works, but there seems to be a DNS performance issue. When trying to open Web sites in Internet Explorer (with AOL software not running) it is often necessary to try 3 or 4 times to get them to open getting not found errors initially. The router is a Netgear model recommended by AOL, the MTU is set to 1400 per their spec., and the modem is a Broadband Blaster.

Does anyone have any ideas on this? Is anyone else using AOL DSL with a router without problems?

Thanks.

What happens when you connect with the AOL client, minimize it and then run IE? Could be that has to be done to have full connectivity.
