Is the throughput displayed based on the calculation done at the Physical layer or at the Higher Layers ?

In what radio, what technology, what device, what system, and on what display? Is this question about GPRS, EVDO, Wi-Fi, WiMax, 1xRTT, cordless phones? Try to be more specific.
Hint: If the transmitted data encounters errors in transmission, requiring a retransmission, does the throughput shown include or exclude the corrupted traffic?
It is for LTE.
