Configuring Wired Computer through WAP

Jul 30, 2007 1 Replies

I have a Netgear WGT624v3.

I currently have my desktop PC wired straight to my modem/router with the netgear working in "WAP" mode for my roommates computer in the living room.

Is it possible to configure a wired computer without a wireless adapter to use the Netgear to pick up Wireless signals?

Thanks.

Oh wait... I'm getting something... I think you want Client Mode on a Wireless Router. Some after-market firmwares can add that capability to SOME routers. I'm not familiar with any that covers Netgear WGT624. Also usually Client mode kills you using it for Access Point mode. Unless you do 2 routers and do something like WDS.. that might work.
