sx2000 and formprint

Example: Multiline Set Key Assignment form for extension 4000

Command syntax: for mu s k /i 4000 /port lpr3

in english that's "formprint multiline set key /instance 4000 the command "/port lpr3" queues the print job to the maintenance terminal and will send it to your default printer or to a file.

The command queues the job but does not actually send it. After sending this command wait 10 secs or so then issue the command "sho pri all" and you should see the job queued-up against LPR3. Now "send it" with the command "EN P" (enable print"

The instance or /i parameter is permissive and optional. NEVER use the "ALL" qualifier with a formprint command. Trust me, you do not have enough paper.

I don't remember how, but you can direct the formprint jobs to other printers hooked to a Data set, the SS-1000 console or the Aux port on the back of the maint console (if it has one). Perhaps someone else has a better memory than me.

If you don't want to have to type the /port lpr3 all the time. Then go to the system port assignment and assign form printouts to lpr3. Then all forms go to the maintenance port for capture at your remote PC.

smdr outputs on lpr1, which in system ports is listed as maint.

I'm using the serial port on a pc running teraterm (f keys map nicely :) and can't seem to locate that port in cde. lpr3 is listed as aux at 1200 bps.

I'd like to print to the maint console itself.

You print to LPR3 which is back to the console you are logged in on.
